JULY 20, 1973, 30 years ago, a legend was taken away from this world. But his spirit, his techniques, his words, and his films' presentations are inherited, remembered and chrished by all the people who love and admire him. His name is: Bruce Lee.
In China, most kids in my age (expecially the boys) all used to imitate him or still act like him by now. I tried to play Nunchaku for a while, until I hit my head so heavily that made me realize that I did not have that kind of gift. But I still enjoy a lot when seeing Lee's films over and over. He is the hero for most of my peers. It is not only because of his strongness and technigues, but also becasue of his philosophy, his spirit to stand strong for Chinese. During that time, Chinese are not respected in the west--they are treated like railroad workers in United States. Bruce Lee fighted hard for this and gained back the dignity of Chinese, and which made him a Chinese hero.
I admire him, the hero, the legend.
One of his famous words: "Don't think; feel. It's like a finger pointing away to the moon. Don't concentrate on the finger, or you will miss all the heavenly glory." Bruce Lee in Enter The Dragon (1974)
PS: The comedian, Stephen Chow, has great gift on imitating Bruce Lee, go see his presentation in
